Oscar Cabin

The Oscar Cabin, of which is owned by the Kitsumkalum First Nation and maintained by Mount Remo Backcountry Society, is situated in a beautiful alpine setting in the Terrace area in the Oscar Basin. The terrain surrounding the cabin is ideal for backcountry skiing during the winter months and hiking/mountaineering in the summer. The area where the cabin is located receives massive amounts of snow each winter making for an exceptionally long ski season. The Oscar cabin is primarily accessed by a short ski tour from the Nisga'a Highway (HWY 113).

A deck in the front provides plenty of room for the extra gear and the sleeping loft provides enough room for six people to sleep comfortably. The wood stove provides enough heat to keep the cabin cozy during the winter months and the propane stove makes cooking a breeze. Please be conservative with your wood usage, each stick of wood costs approx $5.

Booking Summary

• The cabin costs are $25 per person per night and youth under 18yo are free.
• Contact  reserve.mountremo@gmail.com  to book BEFORE SENDING PAYMENT. Payment is by cheque or Email money transfer made out to Mount Remo Backcountry Society.
• 50% payment is due at time of booking. 100% payment is due two weeks before start date of booking. If we do not receive 100% at this time, the reservation will be cancelled and the time will be available to other people.
  We do not offer any refunds for cancelled bookings. We understand that extenuating circumstances such as weather and transportation can throw your hut plans for a loop, however we are not able to offer refunds for any reason.
• We recommend purchasing cancellation insurance for your trip that will cover trip interruptions or cancellations.
• If you are unable to fly out and stay an extra night, you are expected to pay for the extra time there. This is not a punishment of any kind, it just plain costs money to keep the cabin stocked with supplies.
• The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably.
• We are taking overlapping bookings to fill the cabin to capacity.
